Are you feeling crushed, defeated by your circumstances and ready to give up? Need hope?
Our view of what takes place in our natural circumstances is often not reality.
Let me explain: The widow of Zarephath was living in famine, unable to feed herself; her son was getting ready to prepare her last meal before death.
She had given up in her situation. Everything around her pointed to hopelessness, isolation and death. This was her view of her natural circumstances.
Then strategically, a man of God entered her world. He instructed her to feed him. Like us, she responded out of her perception of the situation. The man of God pushed her further into accepting his request and spoke a prophetic word over her.
She did as Elijah said, opening her eyes to the reality of God’s provision.
In fact, “There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.” (1 Kings 17:16, NLT).
The counterfeit wants us to give up, die in our hopelessness and take our families with us. We cannot allow this to happen. We must look to God, open our eyes to his provision and care, expecting miracles. Later when the widow’s son became sick and died, she went directly to the source where she knew her miracle would come from. This time she did not cave to her circumstances but believed what God could do. I encourage you to look beyond your situation and expect your specific miracle to happen. He is a good God.
