Dr. Candice Smithyman recently returned as a guest on my podcast, Adventures in the Spirit on the Charisma Podcast Network. God has been blessing her ministry as it has expanded on social media and is being aired on multiple channels around the world. In our conversation, she explained how she got her start in media ministry from obeying the Word of the Lord.
Smithyman started off producing, filming and directing on her own before the Lord brought a great team around her. She testified of healings and miracles taking place through the power of the Holy Spirit while people watch her programs across the globe.
I love Jesus, knowing that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev. 19:10). So I asked Smithyman how she processes prophetic words before delivering them. She made a clear distinction between the “governmental” words of prophecy she receives and personal prophecy. But she shared how the Lord desires to bless His people, so she takes time to pray and receive revelation, and then processes it for delivery. She also shared how she has led meetings where she prophesied over every person.
When Jesus taught the disciples how to pray, He spoke to the Father, saying, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10). So Smithyman shared how we can release heaven on earth in our lives by being submitted to the Lord and keeping our hearts pure. For every new level of ministry she has stepped into, there is new warfare. There will be naysayers, but we are to keep our heart pure as we are motivated to glorify Jesus.
