God has the power to transform anyone for His kingdom and glory.
Rabbi Kirt Schneider, host of Discovering the Jewish Jesus, recently joined Pastor Troy Brewer for an inspiring conversation about his journey to faith in Jesus and the calling he’s embraced ever since.
A Messianic Jewish believer, Rabbi Schneider has devoted his life to awakening the church to the Jewish roots of Christianity and boldly declaring Jesus as Messiah—despite facing rejection from both Jewish and Christian communities.

Pastor Troy praised Schneider’s courage and grace, calling him “a man on a mission” and a personal hero. “When you stand and boldly proclaim Yeshua HaMashiach as a rabbi,” Brewer said, “you are catching it from both ends. I love bravery, and I love the grace that you carry.”
Rabbi Schneider acknowledged the emotional cost of his calling, admitting that years of rejection have brought hidden pain. “When I meet the Lord face to face, there’s going to be a lot of pain released from my heart,” he shared. “But we’re appointed not only to reign with Him, but to suffer with Him.”
He then recounted the supernatural vision that changed his life forever. At 20 years old, with no knowledge of Jesus and no exposure to the New Testament, he was in emotional turmoil after losing his identity as a competitive wrestler. One night in 1978, while reading a book on Eastern mysticism, he fell asleep—and everything changed.
“Jesus appeared to me in my sleep,” he said. “I saw Him on the cross in full color, and a ray of red light came through the sky and landed on His head. I instantly knew it was God showing me that Jesus is the way.”
The encounter, though brief, birthed hope in his heart. “I didn’t know theology, I didn’t know sin—I just knew that God had revealed Himself to me.”
Both Schneider and Brewer reflected on the mystery of God’s choosing. “The reason the Lord revealed Himself to you,” Schneider told Brewer, “is because He chose you. Jesus said, ‘No one comes to Me unless it’s been granted by the Father.’”
