So many of us are facing a mountain right now. A mountain that requires mustard-seed, mountain moving faith that is bold, brave and unwavering … the kind of faith that David had when he faced Goliath.
The mountains that moved before because of your unwavering faith served as tutelage for moving even bigger mountains that you may be facing now.
Faith, as Caleb said in Joshua 14:12, “Give me this mountain” when the Anakims, the giants, were inhabiting the promised land, and had to be overcome, or faith like David when he went forth to slay Goliath because of his mighty faith and righteous cause in the name of the Lord of Hosts.
What kind of mountain or Goliath are you facing today? Health issues, financial stress, marital discord, problems with your children, or maybe you are suffering with anxiety or depression due to this current world climate.
God is all powerful and can accomplish what is humanly impossible. Your faith in Him activates that kind of mountain moving power no matter that size or complexity of the issues that have created your mountain.
Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” In other words, mustard-seed sized faith in a big God can move your mountain. A mustard seed sized faith in a big God results in the impossible!
There are two very important words in Mark 11:23, when Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.”
Look now at the mountain in your life, those issues that seem impossible to overcome in the natural realm or look at the Goliath you may be facing and command it all to move in the name of Jesus.
But how can we be so sure that our mountains will move and our Goliath will be defeated? It’s a matter of those two very important words I just mentioned. If you speak to your mountain or to your Goliath and do not doubt in your heart, but instead believe, your faith will move that mountain and slay that Goliath that has been standing in your way.
When Jesus uses the parable of mustard seed sized faith when it comes to moving mountains or casting out demons, it is because the mustard seed was the smallest seed, but it grew into a huge plant thus becoming the greatest of all herbs and symbolizing the potential in their faith.
Are you in the valley of affliction right now? Do you feel that you are facing the impossible?
All of us have been there in the valley at one time or another. Praise God in that valley as much as you would praise Him on the mountaintop, for in the valley, you are growing deeper in your relationship with God as you learn to trust Him completely to lead you from the valley to the mountaintop, after being fired in the kiln of adversity. That valley time served to prepare you to seize the summit for His glory and to shine as beautifully as the finest of porcelain.
The mountain …. whether you stand atop it or move it out of the way, it is a testament to the miracle working power of God!
