According to Scripture, you have the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. This was a figure of speech used to describe demons.
Demons are under your feet because Jesus won the victory on the cross, and you are seated with Him. We are to engage in spiritual warfare knowing our identity in Christ.
I had the honor of having a great discussion with Jake Kail of the Keys for Deliverance podcast on the Destiny Image Podcast Network.
Kail shared, “The Scripture is the most foundational way for God to speak to us. It is the most important way He speaks to us. Nothing God says or speaks will contradict His Word.”
Kail said he was set free from demonic bondages when he had a dramatic encounter with the Lord when he was 19, and then God started having dreams where he was casting demons out of people. He said, “I would wake up from the dream and I knew it was from God, but I was honestly freaked out about it. I didn’t fully understand how that could work for me.”
He described the encounter with Jesus that radically changed him, saying, “I was living a deceived lifestyle, thinking I could be a Christian but live like the rest of the world. … In college I was invited to a college ministry retreat, and my eyes were opened to a conviction for sin. I wrestled with the conviction but finally came to a point of true surrender and deep repentance.”
He read Power Healing by John Wimber and They Shall Expel Demons by Derek Prince, and his eyes were opened to how deliverance ministry works today. It gave him the biblical foundation and understanding he needed to step out into deliverance ministry. People started coming to him about bondages, and he started praying for people. People started manifesting demons, and Kail said, “The Lord gave me the boldness to cast them out.” He’s grown in the area of deliverance doing a lot of equipping and training people to go through personal deliverance.
