In a powerful and anointed message at Christ Fellowship, Todd Mullins ignited the congregation with a fresh understanding of how to fight life’s battles—not with our own strength, but with the mighty weapons God has given us.
“You cannot listen to the voice of your enemy or you’ll never step into your destiny,” Mullins says. “The way God sees you is different than the way you see you.”

Drawing from Ephesians 6:17, Mullins highlighted the need for believers to take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. He clarified that this wasn’t just about reading the Scriptures, but speaking and declaring them aloud, activating God’s power in the midst of spiritual battles. It’s not simply enough for us to know the Scriptures, we must activate them by declaring them over our lives.
Just as Jesus quoted Scripture to resist the devil in the wilderness, Mullins encourages Christians to do the same.
“You have weapons that have divine power. And you’ve got to know how to use those weapons,” Mullins says. “Life is first and foremost spiritual…so, if you are first and foremost spiritual beings, you better know how to fight spiritually against the spiritual enemy that Jesus said has come to rob, kill and destroy.”
Mullins notes that when the enemy tries to make you feel alone, hopeless or fearful, it is critical to declare God’s promises, such as “God is with me, He will never leave me or forsake me,” (Deut. 31:6) or “I am not given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind,” (2 Tim. 1:7). Speaking these truths aloud shifts the atmosphere and activates faith.
