In my Christian walk, Satan has thrown seemingly difficult obstacles across my path. There have been extreme financial pressures associated with overseeing a ministry, the sadness and despair of losing my son to cancer 18 years ago, two failed marriages and more. This past year, I also found myself in the middle of two unforeseen legal battles that the enemy used plaster my past to the forefront of my mind. The onslaught of these rising Jerichos before me were, at times, overbearing. These Jerichos kept coming. Wall after wall kept rising.
But even when Satan put up insurmountable walls before me, I just continued marching on because I had received my marching orders from the Lord. You can do the same!
Your situation may seem to grow darker and darker; the Jerichos are coming fast and furious, and you feel that you’re marching right into the night. But if you’ll keep marching on and praising God, sooner than you may think, you’ll hear a crack in that barrier with the sound of Jericho collapsing, and daylight will dawn again!
It takes persevering faith and a diligent stance to remain in God’s Word and His promises and to give Him the praise due His name for His faithfulness to those promises. Beloved, your praise is a weapon, and you will come out of the rubble smokeless and a victor!
Begin to praise God for His wonderful faithfulness to His promises. Praise God because His mercy endures forever! Nothing can stop a child of God who learns how to praise Him in the midst of the rising Jerichos and from the depths of their heart, even when it’s aching! It’s a faith that goes beyond what they see!
Whatever you are facing in life right now, whatever you desire to obtain or overcome, if you will learn how to praise God before you see your answer, God will give you the victory! He is after your faith and obedience to His Word.
Whatever you need from God, it’s available right now if you’ll just begin to take God at His Word and believe by faith and praise Him for the provisions that He’s already made for you through Jesus Christ! The battle of Jericho was won with the high praises of God in his people’s mouths and with a shout of victory. Today, arise, give Him your shout of praise and declare, “My Jericho is coming down in Jesus’ name” (Josh.6:1-5, 16, 20).
