After experiencing the instantaneous repair of his small intestine through healing prayer in 2007, Bruce Van Natta has since been privileged to play a part in the healing of many others—including the healing of another young man’s digestive system.
Christopher Gunderson, 16 at the time, had been tube-fed his entire life because of an incurable stomach disorder. On Nov. 6, 2011, he attended a service at Destiny Christian Fellowship near Portland, Ore., where Van Natta was giving his testimony and preaching.
During the service, Gunderson began to feel odd vibrations in his gut. After the service, as Van Natta prayed over the boy, the pulsating sensations became increasingly stronger until, like Van Natta had experienced in his own healing moment, Gunderson felt an electric shock move through his body.
Gunderson’s stomach and GI tract were instantly healed, and that night he ate the first meal of his life with no ill effects. Doctors have since removed his feeding tubes.
Van Natta affirms the continued activity of Christ as Creator in any physical crisis and the blessing of being a part of the healing work God does in the lives of others.
“My miracle is small,” he says, “compared to the miracles God is doing in other peoples’ lives.”
