What is the personal, prophetic meaning of the Resurrection in your own life? Did you know that the Bible is filled with types and shadows of the resurrection which symbolize what Christ accomplished for us even within the Old Testament?
Paul prayed in Philippians 3:10 “to know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.”
Maybe you have heard the saying before but are not sure what it truly means to live in the power of the resurrection of Christ. To better understand Paul’s prayer and what living in the power of the Resurrection looks like in our own life, we need look no further than the Bible. Scripture reveals the meaning of His death and resurrection to us, and the text shows us God’s plan of salvation.
The Bible teaches us that there are multiple miracles that occurred on the third day throughout Scripture. Each one of these third-day miracles reveal the perfection of the Resurrection in our own lives.
In Joshua 1:11, we see that after the children of Israel have wandered in the wilderness for 40 days, they are ready to go up and possess the land that was promised to them. However, we see in the text that they must wait until the third day. The text teaches:
“Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare food, for in three days you will cross the Jordan to go to take possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving you to possess.'”
Why does the Bible give us these details? Was it a coincidence that they had to wait until the third day to possess the land that the Lord had promised to them? The answer is no because the Bible has no coincidences.
Rather, the Bible is revealing to us the significance of Christ’s resurrection, through which we possess the promises of God. Jesus paid the ultimate price for us, and on the third day when He rose again, we became able to attain God’s promise of salvation for us through this miracle.
Living in the power of the Resurrection is about understanding that salvation was God’s plan for us. It is also about understanding the sacrifice that was made and the price that was paid through Jesus Christ.
