We’ve all heard of foxhole faith. But what Tatiana Gumenyuk of Ukraine reveals in an exclusive Strang Report interview is the supernatural faith that can move mountains and stop wars. Speaking while her city near Kyiv remains under attack, this intercessor urges Western believers to pray for the people of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus—and says she’s “ready to die” for her faith.
“I’m begging you, please continue to pray for us, for God’s protection of Ukraine,” she says. “At this point, many people are dead. Many people are scared. Many people are simply in need of food, health or warmth. Please pray for us to stop this war. … We’re paying a big price for this.
Gumenyuk adds that this is a time for people in Russia and Belarus to “wake up from the Russian tyranny.”
“Perhaps I could be hanged for those words in a few days,” she says, but she remains adamant.
“I’m telling you: Wake up,” she tells the Russian people. “I’ve lived through communism; I don’t want to live through it anymore. I’m willing to die for my faith. But please, wake up. people in Russia, mothers, take your sons back to you. They want to be with you. … Our soldiers don’t know what to do with these guys. Please take your sons back home, and live a normal life and get tyranny away from your throne and start to believe in God, because only with God can we accomplish something on this earth.
The growing Protestant movement in Ukraine remains strong, Gumenyuk says. On Friday, her church had a meeting with about 60 people praying fervently over the crisis.
“On Sunday, we had martial law until 8 a.m,” she says. “At 10 o’clock, we had 130 people who got together, drove, walked, prayed, sang to the Lord and begged the Lord to deliver and stop this war for Ukraine, and for the leaders to do it as soon as possible so we don’t have as much bloodshed as we have had.”
Gumenyuk does not discount the end-times implications of this conflict and the possibility that Putin is operating in an antichrist spirit. “It might be the beginning of World War III; it might be the beginning of Armageddon,” she says. “But the church here is ready to fight—and is ready to meet Jesus Christ any minute.”
And the master’s-level graduate of Bob Jones University in South Carolina, who says she learned intercession at the feet of her mother, a longtime prayer warrior, has a word of encouragement for Western believers. Despite bombs bursting around her and the imminent threat of Russian takeover, she says she remains peaceful because “I have the peace of God in my heart.
“And let me tell you if you have that peace in your heart and that relationship with Jesus Christ, that’s what you need,” she adds. “He will take care of you. He will take you through everything in your life if you have Jesus.
“I have gone through a lot of downs,” she adds. “I have gone through a lot of denials, refusals in America. … I found that peace of God that I saw in the life of my parents, my mom and dad, who brought up 10 children, survived World War II, communistic persecutions and instilled in us so much love and care. My mom inspired me, and I’m very peaceful and calm, though I’m shaking at this point. … You need only Jesus. Nothing satisfies you: money, career, nothing. Only Jesus. And I’m so happy. I am with my family in Ukraine, where I saw a true example of prayer life, trust in the Lord, and living the life worthy of a Christian.”
