Many of God’s people suffer from the consequences of bad choices. Even though they’re repentant, they still struggle to be free from the pain and shame of the past.
Recently, I ministered to a young man in a healing service who struggled to be free in Christ for things that took place in his past. The Holy Spirit revealed the hurtful issues that brought him to the situation he is living in today.
As a young boy he was abandoned by both of his parents. This rejection left deep wounds and scars that led him down a dark path of satanic worship, substance abuse, and addictions. He was feeling so hopeless that he contemplated suicide that morning. But instead found himself weeping and crying out to his heavenly Father at the altar that morning for deliverance.
Perhaps, you find yourself in bondage to sinful behaviors and the consequences they bring, pain and shame. If this is you, here is a word of encouragement from the Lord for you.
The effects from pain and shame,
Have made many spiritually lame.
As Satan plays his unrelenting game,
Your joy begins to wane.
You wonder if you are spiritually sane,
Because you can’t rid yourself from blame.
But Jesus came,
To take the blame,
To suffer pain,
And release you from all shame.
He heals the lame,
And makes another sane,
From His Word He does not wane.
Because He will forever remain the same.
The Bible says in 1 John 1:9 that “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” And it goes on to say in 2 Cor. 5: 17, “Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.”
Don’t lose hope because Jesus willingly shed His blood for you so that you can be forgiven, delivered, healed and set free from the bondage of pain and shame.
