There are several reasons my husband, Steve, and I were not supposed to be able to have a baby. One is that I am a 45-year-old woman with a number of health issues. But the obstacles did not stop God.
We did conceive. But when I was six months pregnant, we were told that there were problems with our unborn child.
Apparently, her brain wasn’t developing normally. And based on the report from an ultrasound, we were encouraged to seek the advice of a genetic counselor. Blood tests had strongly indicated the possibility that our baby daughter had Down syndrome.
However, when she was born, she was found to be perfectly healthy, with not one thing wrong. In fact, developmentally, she is ahead of schedule.
I believe that Jesse will be all the smarter because the devil tried to tell us she would be damaged. God’s plans for her were not what the doctor told us.
Did God heal our baby? Or was Satan the source of those images on the screen?
All I know is, when I was told that our baby was brain-damaged, I went to the Word of God. I believed His Word and not the report of the enemy. Many parents would have chosen to abort the baby at that point.
But we trusted God’s Word, and we didn’t allow Satan to rob us of God’s peace. If you or a loved one gets a negative medical report, stand on God’s Word. Look to Him and believe His report.
