Beth Moore Lets Everyone Know Her Stance on Christian Nationalism in Viral Tweet

Read time: 2 minuets 29 seconds

Division has found a way into almost every aspect of American Christianity.

While the Bible calls for unity among believers (1 Cor. 1:10; 1 Pet. 3:8; Ps. 133:1, and so many more), Christians of all denominations are having trouble agreeing on anything these days.

Few topics are as hotly contested as the recent discussion on Christian Nationalism, the definition of which changes from person to person based on their perspective.

Christian leaders across the country have come out both for and against it, again, depending on what the definition of Christian nationalism is.

On Nov. 14, Christian author and Living Proof Ministries president Beth Moore tweeted what she felt about the Christian nationalism movement:

With over 1 million followers on Twitter, her response was sure to bring a plethora of views both agreeing and disagreeing with her. And it most certainly did.

Garnering over 14.2k likes, 1,879 retweets and over 700 comments at the time of this article, people were chiming in on what they thought about Moore’s tweet.

Many of her followers agreed with her take, with one responding, “So True Beth. Republican, Democrat, White, Black, Asian, or Pink Polka Dot. Our ONLY HOPE is Jesus. The Good News is ALL are welcome, His arms are STILL wide open without the nails.”

But there were others who took umbrage with this statement as well, with one user arguing:

“The concept is simple. America is a Christian nation, and if we want to preserve our Christian culture for ourselves and our future children. By allowing anything other, to either exist within the country or enter into the country will destroy that. Thus, Christian nationalism.”

Still, there were some like this user who had questions about what Christian nationalism even was:

“Please define ‘Christian Nationalism’… This seems to be a subjective term.”

Amongst all the confusion, disagreement and praise for the tweet, Moore hit the nail on the head when she claimed Christian faithfulness to Jesus is the way ahead.

Governments, people and political parties can all let people down. But Jesus is the one, true King who will never let His followers down. Christians may not always understand the season they are going through, but if they stick it out and push deeper into Christ, He reveals His intentions and path forward to them in His timing. {eoa}
