Asbury Non-Stop Services Moving to ‘Another Location,’ School Says

The site of continual worship and prayer on campus for nearly two weeks, Asbury University says it is moving its non-stop services to “another location in the central Kentucky area.”

The final public evening service was held Sunday. But public worship will continue in the afternoons through Wednesday at 2 p.m., Asbury announced over the weekend.

Asbury’s Facebook page announced that the concluding public worship service of this recent outpouring on the Asbury University campus was scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m.

‘Pure Greed’: Woman Sentenced After Embezzling From Church for Years

A 72-year-old Indiana woman received her sentence for embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from St. Matthew Parish, which oversees St. Matthew Catholic Church and School in Indianapolis.

Marie Carson pleaded guilty to wire fraud to the tune of almost $600,000.

She was sentenced to two years in federal prison and two years of probation once her prison time has been served. Carson must also pay back the $573,836.59 to the church from which she stole it.

Jailed American Missionary Pilot Remains ‘Committed to God’s Will’

An American missionary pilot, has been denied bail along with two other Mission Aviation volunteers who were arrested four months ago for “supporting insurgent activity” in Mozambique.

Mission Aviation Fellowship says Ryan Koher, 31, detained in Inhambane on Nov. 4., has a “peace from God and is committed to His will.” Koher and 77-year-old W.J. de Plessis and 69-year-old Eric Dry were loading supplies into an aircraft to be taken to church-run orphanages in the Montepuez district in the trouble Cabo Delgado province when they were arrested by airport security.

Mission Aviation Fellowship reported that “the flight bound for Montepuez in Cabo Delgado raised more suspicion since conflict in the region is rife. There is a general mistrust of foreigners who handle goods in the area.” {eoa}
