Have you ever felt all alone in your walk with Christ? At times, it can certainly feel overwhelming. But what if you standing alone is exactly what God wants to use to accomplish His purpose?
Standing alone for Christ is a scenario that is all too familiar to Christian singer Bruna Melo.
Bruna has been a follower of Jesus for many years, and she has had to stand alone for Christ in many different situations throughout her career. She has stood alone for Christ as a recording artist, as an international student, as a fashion model, as a television host and in many other areas of life.
Bruna knows that she must stand strong wherever she is if she wants to be used by God. She recognizes that God often calls her to stand alone and to rely on Him for her strength and courage. Living out this simple truth has led to many incredible testimonies of how God has used Bruna’s life.
In a recent interview on Your Faith At Work on the Charisma Podcast Network, Bruna tells about several times when God called her to stand alone for Him. She highlights some important keys to being able to stand strong for God whenever He calls us to.
One of the keys Bruna emphasizes is the importance of having our own experience with God. She quotes Psalm 34:8a: “taste and see that the Lord is good,” and points out that you can’t drink water for someone else who is thirsty. We all must drink our own water, and we all must have our own relationship with God through Jesus.
Bruna says there are opportunities all around us to be used by God and that “we need to really be connected to God to identify these opportunities.” God has plans to use each one of us right where we are. “God will use the way you do the work and the way you talk,” said Bruna.
We just need to be obedient and walk in faith by trusting God and relying on Him.
