Why the Church Must Lead the World in Unity

This world is desperately hurting! In America alone, we see divisions among churches, political leaders, COVID precautions and racial inequalities. We are in desperate need of unity in this nation. However, I believe it’s unfair to expect unbelievers to lead the world in unity. I believe this because the church has the groundwork, the way to come together in unity, and His name is Jesus Christ.

We may never agree on everything, but there are certain things we should agree on. Jesus:

— Is the Son of God and Son of man.

— Is the Savior of the world.

— Died.

— Rose again.

— Is the forgiveness of our sin.

— Is our justification.

— Is our righteousness.

We agree on things like the Trinity—God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit—but we should not allow those other things to separate what God has joined together.

“You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself because you who pass judgment do the same things” (Rom. 2:1, NIV).

I am against “denominational” because my King Jesus is against it. I am for what He is for, and I am against what He is against. I’ve made my allegiance the thoughts, will and heart of our King Jesus. I believe that we can agree and come together under one King, one body, with one heart and one mission. That mission is to reach the lost, minister to the hurting and declare the extravagant love of God, we can turn this world upside down with love.

I would encourage every believer in Christ Jesus right in your callings, right in your own homes that you have the capacity for reconciliation. We can turn this world upside down for good.

I believe in the power of the gospel. I believe in what Jesus Christ has done, and I believe that what he has done is enough. I believe that when He created in Himself one new man, all those who put their trust in Christ as the forgiveness and propitiation for their sin are found in Him. When we trust Him and become one with Him, we are one with each other.

“For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Rom. 12:3-5).

When we are one with each other, we honor, and we celebrate. We declare with great joy and exuberance the excellent work that each of us is doing on the earth. There’s no room for competition, jealousy, backbiting and every evil thing that divides; no, we don’t all look the same, and we shouldn’t.

We need you, beloved. We need you, son and daughter, walking in the fullness of your creation, walking in the beauty of who you are created to be in the one new man. There is now, therefore, one new man in Christ. It is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, slave nor free, all one in Christ (Gal. 3:28).
