A man driving his pickup truck one day saw a man carrying a heavy load on his back. He stopped and offered the man a ride. The man quickly jumped in the back of his truck. The driver looked back to check on his passenger, when he was shocked to see that the man was still carrying the heavy load on his back. Many times we, as believers, do the same thing. We are in Christ, in the back of the pickup truck, and we are still carrying our pasts, our fears, our hurts, our stresses and our worries on our backs. Jesus wants us to cast all of our cares upon Him. Why? Because He cares for us affectionately and has the solutions to our burdens.
